Signs are regulated by the City of Kings Mountain to stabilize and protect property values, maintain the visual attractiveness of the City and its environs, and to promote the public safety. The regulations govern the location, size, and type of signs and require that most signs obtain zoning and building permits. Section 156.60.03 of the Unified Development Ordinance contains most of the City of Kings Mountain signage regulations.
The City strongly advises businesses not to fabricate signs until permits have been issued. Permits are required for wall signs, ground signs, projecting signs, and temporary signs.
