Aging Program Advisory Board
The purpose of the Advisory Board shall be to initiate and/or improve, and to promote the programs, opportunities, and services offered to senior adults through the Patrick Senior Center.

Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Board
The Kings Mountain Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Board consists of five members serving at the pleasure of the Kings Mountain City Council. The Board operates one retail store. This store serves the general public though retail sales and also serves our licensee (liquor by the drink) businesses.

John H. Moss Reservoir Commission
The Reservoir Commission is an advisory committee that recommends annual budgets for the Moss Lake operation, rules for the recreational use of the lake, appropriate fee schedules for the recreational uses, and additional policies relating to environmental conditions and uses of property adjoining the reservoir itself.

KM Board of Adjustment
The Board of Adjustment is a terminal decision board that interprets the zoning ordinance, issues orders granting or denying variations from the zoning ordinance, and issues orders granting or denying conditional use permit requests. They act in a quasi-judicial manner and their decisions are subject to judicial review.

Library Board of Trustees
The Mauney Memorial Library Board of Trustees are appointed by the Mayor and Council of the City of Kings Mountain. Members serve six-year terms. They are community advisers and dedicated ambassadors of Mauney Memorial Library.

Main Street Advisory Board
The Main Street Board serves in an advisory capacity to city staff by providing perspective, professional expertise, interest and passion for the downtown area. Together this grassroots organization, city staff, committee members, stakeholders and volunteers work to improve the economic climate of downtown Kings Mountain through the Four Points™ of Organization, Promotion, Design and Economic Revitalization.

Planning & Zoning Board
The Planning and Zoning Board is an advisory committee that participates in the development of the city’s comprehensive plan, preparation of special studies, updating of land use plans, development of policies relating to land uses, drafts ordinances, reviews zoning ordinance and zoning text amendments. It also reviews and advises City Council on the matter of major subdivision plats.

Tourism Development Authority (TDA) Board
The Kings Mountain Tourism Authority collects a portion of the City's occupancy tax and redistributes the monies as financial grants to non-profit organizations to promote travel and tourism in Kings Mountain. The Authority has five members, two representing local hoteliers and three positions that are appointed by the mayor.
