Chief's Message

The City of Kings Mountain is located at the junction of Highway 74 and Interstate 85 approximately 33 miles west of Charlotte, NC. Kings Mountain Fire Department serves a growing community of 11,000 people in an area 10.6 miles square. Our staff consist of 20 career firefighters, 5 part-time firefighters, and 2 volunteer firefighters. We operate two fire stations that together house three engines, a ladder truck, a heavy rescue, and two brush units.

Unique in our history, Kings Mountain also has some unique modern features such as an energy center, a lithium mine, and several data centers. Located near the Revolutionary Kings Mountain battlefield, Gateway Trails, Crowder’s Mountain, and John H. Moss Lake water reservoir, we offer very diverse opportunities for tourism and recreation. All of the things that make Kings Mountain an attractive destination for citizens and visitors also requires that our staff of professional firefighters be well versed in all areas of emergency services.

As Fire Chief, I am honored to serve the men and women of this fire department. We strive to provide our citizens and visitors with quality, professional, and timely emergency services. Through training, education, preparation, and community involvement we will place “Life Safety, Property Conservation, and Incident Stabilization” at the forefront of our mission. My desire is that God bless our customers through His blessings of this fire department. Thank you for visiting our website, and be sure to stop by for a visit at one of our stations. Thank you all for your continued support!
